Emily’s New Accessory

Last Saturday all the kids were in the basement having fun jumping on our mats and somehow Emily fell and hurt her arm.  We are not really sure what happened but Emily started crying and after a few minutes we knew it was more than a little bump.  She is a pretty tough kid and typically does not cry much after a fall or bump, but this time she would not settle down so we took her to the emergency room and sure enough they found a small hair line crack hence the beautiful sling.  At first I thought this was going to be a disaster, but actually it has not been too bad.  She has done a good job keeping it on and we can see improvement in her mobility and it is not nearly as sensitive.  As you can see she is in good spirits!

Christmas Fun

This is a little late, but I guess better late than never . We spent Christmas this year at home in Iowa as a family. It was a fun relaxing week filled with games, legos, movies, play-doh and great family time! Here some photos of all the fun.

Brandon ~ 1st Grade Gingerbread House

Our local school has a great tradition where all the first graders get to make a gingerbread house out of gram crackers.  They get to invite someone to come help and since Charlie helped Taylor two years ago Brandon selected me.  It is lots of fun and Brandon created one very cool gingerbread house.

Christmas Cookies

Last Saturday, Charlie, Taylor and Brandon decided they wanted to make gingerbread cookies so here is some pictures of all the fun!

Taylor our Dancer

Taylor decided to participate in a local dance group this year.  They meet once a week for almost an hour and the primary focus is on having fun, getting some exercise and learning a few new dance moves.   So far they have had two dance recitals- one very casual performance at a local nursing home and the second one a Christmas program at Northwestern College.  She has really enjoyed it and best of all her two best friends are on the team as well.
