Outside Fun

You know it has been a bad winter when it hits 30 degrees outside and it feels like a heat wave. With the sun out, no wind and the snow slowly melting we took advantage of the "warm weather" playing outside and clearing some of the snow off our back deck.

Brandon ready to work

We have so much snow that Charlie had to dig trenches so the kids could get to the play set without sinking or almost disappearing in snow.

I Have a Dream . . .

Back on Martin Luther King Jr. Day Taylor's class was asked to make a picture of themselves and write their own dream. Their work was proudly hung in the school hallway for the past coupe weeks. Here is what our amazing, beautiful daughter wrote . . .

"I have a dream that everybody will be treated the same. My brother has Down syndrome and I want him to be treated the same. I will teach others that Caleb is the same."

Vanetine's Love

Nine amazing years! We don't really buy into Valentines Day, but this year Charlie got a babysitter so we could go on a date. When we told the kids Taylor said "Why are you going on a date, you are already married?". Then Brandon said, "Does that mean you going to do that kissy, kissy thing?" Maybe Charlie and I need to go out more often.
Caleb is so loving - he is always asking for a hug or willing to give you a kiss.
He loves to grab our necks and pull us together and say kiss or hug.

As you can see Charlie doesn't seem to mind!

Snow, Snow and more Snow . .

As you can see we have lots of snow and just as a little of it melts we get more. Unfortunately we typically get most of our snow in February and March. In fact, the Farmer Almanac says we are going to get another 20 inches this month. Boy are we thankful for our big snow blower and 4-wheel drive winter!
This is the end of our driveway.

My Two Little Dancers

Caleb and Emily have turned into really good buddies. Caleb teaches Emily all kinds things (some I wish he would rather not). They both love music and dancing. Here is a short video of the two in action!

Brandon's Special Hat - 100 Days of School Celebration

To help with their counting skills Brandon’s Kindergarten class had to decorate a hat with 100 items to help celebrate the “100 Days of School Left” last week. The idea is to find something around your house to decorate the hat – cereal, marshmallows, etc. Brandon decided to decorate his hat with colored pop-sickle sticks. Charlie and Brandon hot glued 100 sticks to his hat and here is the finished product.

Brandon being silly - showing off his hat!

The hat turned out really cool - as Brandon’s friend said, “That is awesome!”.

The SNAKE in my Bathtub

For Brandon’s birthday he received a little rubber snake that you put in water and watch in grow to 3 ft. I guess they thought that my bathtub would be the best place to put the snake to watch it grow for a week. I am sure you can image my surprise when I found it the next morning. Thankfully the snake has found a new home in the trash can in the garage.
